TARGET AUDIENCE Everybody. To all those who want to live a unique experience, learn the culture and enjoy an unforgettable day alone or accompanied.

Just for who does not know it, Aquaculture is a mix of activities and techniques specialized to raise aquatic plants and organisms. We are going to focus on fish breeding, namely breeding fish in offshore (gilthead bream and bass), technique that are already substituted the traditional catch. Now you can personally experience a marvelous activity that a lot of us still does not know.

We are going to climb on board and we will reach the installation 5 kilometer far from the coast (3, 10 miles), where could be possible enjoy the natural beauty offered by the Regional Park “La Salina y Arelanes” and by the Mediterranean sea.        

Once arrived, an aquaculture specialist teach us all the process of breeding and the steps that aquaculturists have to follow, from the larva phase to the mature one, when the gilthead bream and bass are ready to cook or sell. During the explanation, could be possible feed the fish.

Once come back, we are going to visit the regional park of  “Las Salinas”, where our guide will explain the process to make the salt. The tour continues with a visit to a fishing bar situated in the port where we could taste the tapa de caldero, a characteristic meal of the Mar Menor.
